Struggling as a teen to find lingerie and swimsuits that would fit
her little bod and large chest, Shoshanna Lonstein began to fiddle
around with her clothes so that they would suit her properly. After
going through some difficult times during her much-publicized
relationship with one Jerry Seinfeld, she finally got a break when a few
of her dresses caught the eye of none other than Bloomingdale's.
Orders came flying in not only from the famous retailer, but also
courtesy of Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus, among others. She
extended her reach to magazines, becoming a contributing editor for
Cosmopolitan. Celebrities could be seen wearing Shoshanna, and a keen
eye could even catch her styles on an episode of Sex and the City.
Lonstein was soon considered -- from a fashion perspective -- an
overnight success.
The Manhattan-born beauty expanded herPlus Size Wedding Dresses
line from dresses and tops to swimwear, and was granted her own
style segment on WNBC's Today in New York. The rich and famous are even
said to visit her for special fittings in preparation for big events.
Consequently, at every movie premiere and big celeb bash, Lonstein can
be found boasting her own styles, hamming it up for the cameras and
socializing with the city's elite. As long as she stays in the
spotlight, we're extremely happy.
Born in 1975, Shoshanna Lonstein's childhood was a fairly privileged
one, enjoying a comfortable life in New York City as a pretty, athletic
young girl. She attended the well-known Nightingale-Bamford all-girls
school, excelling academically while getting involved in her school's
sports teams. It has become celebrity gossip legend that Lonstein was
wearing her plaid-skirt uniform when she caught comedian Jerry
Seinfeld's eye one day in Central Park.
in full bloom
From Nightingale, Lonstein attended the University of California at Los
Angeles, studying both history and art history. She completed the double
major in 1997 and went straight into the job market, looking for
employment in public relations and banking.
With no jobs truly enticing her, Shoshanna (which means "rose" in
Hebrew) returned home and moved back in with her parents. It was a
difficult few months for her, as her four-year, much-publicized
relationship with Seinfeld ended around the same time. For the girl who
always seemed to have it easy, the road was starting to get difficult.
a lot of effort a bit of luck
Determined to cultivate her creative
tendencies, she began sketching clothes and realized her childhood
dreams of fashion design may not have been too far off. She reached out
to her CEO father for help and was able to land a few jobs in the
garment district. Instead of pay, her employer promised to make samples
of her designs. The prototypes were at first limited to lingerie, but
when Lonstein experimented with dresses, she knew something Bridesmaid Dress UK Blogspecial was about to happen.
In a corner of the showroom she shared with fellow newcomers,
Bloomingdale's randomly spotted her collection one day. Several days
later, orders were placed for the big-time retailer, and it took a mere
few months for Shoshanna to be shipped to eight different Bloomingdale's
outlets, as well as more than 50 private, upper scale boutiques.

Her clothing, designed for real women, as Cheap Bridesmaid Dressesopposed
to paper-thin ladies, took off with their sexy cuts and colorful
schemes. Soon, Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus also carried the
Shoshanna line and hundreds of boutiques requested more shipments. She
began to receive big-time sales profits and praise, as Cosmopolitan
magazine listed her as one of their "Fun, Fearless Females" of the year.
Doing her own publicity, she modeled the swimsuits herself in
Cosmopolitan and fans were in awe -- she actually looked better than
